Vendor Performance Management (VPM)

System Benefits
The VPM system is a web-based application that allows vendors to access summaries of operational performance, specific to their product categories. Key benefits of the application include:

  • Standard scorecards with a consistent set of metrics.
  • Month-over-month and year-over-year comparisons to support trend analysis.
  • PO/SKU detail of vendor performance in Best Buy’s Shipping Performance Management Program (SPMP).

Regarding Navigation and Application
The user training documentation and web-based training should answer all of your application questions. However, in the event of application issues beyond the scope of these documents, you can contact the Best Buy Help Desk at 1-866-HELP-BBY. Provide them with the following information and we will ensure that a technician addresses your problem:

  • Name & Contact Information
  • Company and Vendor Number
  • Report or functionality using - reports have a numeric code as a prefix to allow us to support you better. In addition to this number, any indication of the selections made prior to running a report will be helpful.

Recommended system Requirements for accessing VPM:
Processor: 486 or higher
RAM: 16 MB
Operating System: 95, 98, Me, 2000, NT, XP
Browsers: IE 5.0 or later

Web Client Software:

  • At a minimum, browser must support HTML tables and cookies
  • Recommended browsers include full CSS and DHTML support
  • Recommended resolution for the browser monitor is 800 x 600 or higher with 256 color palette minimum. Any spreadsheet application that supports CSV file type can be used as an export alternative to Microsoft Excel.
  • T1 connection, cable modem or DSL

Security Administrators
A security administrator has been assigned by each vendor to coordinate set-up and maintenance of applicable users within each organization. Designated users will be supplied a login ID and password by their system administrator. Note: ensure the right people from your company are designated as security administrators. If the correct people are not currently designated or you do not have two security administrators, email vpmorg@bestbuy.com, requesting the persons for which a new user ID and password are required. The VPM team will issue a maximum of TWO user ids and passwords per vendor number, and will give access to designated security administrators only.
